On November 1, 2022, L. Knife & Son (“L. Knife”) detected suspicious activity within its computer network. In response, L. Knife immediately initiated an investigation, implemented measures to help secure its network, and notified law enforcement. The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor accessed certain files within L. Knife’s computer systems between October 13, 2022 and October 19, 2022. A small number of those files were used for Human Resources purposes and contained the names and Social Security numbers of enrollees in L. Knife’s employer-sponsored health insurance plan.

On December 30, 2022, L. Knife mailed letters to affected plan members and arranged for them to receive a complimentary, two-year membership to identity monitoring services through Experian IdentityWorksSM. If you believe you are affected by this incident and do not receive a notification letter by January 30, 2022, please call (855) 624-3337, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time, excluding certain U.S. holidays.

L. Knife takes the privacy and confidentiality of the information it maintains very seriously. To help prevent a similar incident from occurring, L. Knife implemented additional safeguards and technical security measures to enhance the security of its network.
